Ennesima novità radiofonica arrivata dagli USA, che nonostante la crisi economica non frenano la creatività sul mezzo. Ne dà conto, come sempre, l’aggiornatissimo Radio Passioni di Andrea Lawendel:  trattasi della radio basata sul crowdsourcing, una connotazione del medium di cui avevamo già parlato nel recente passato.

Spiega Andrea: "Con questo termine vengono indicate le iniziative Web e i servizi che vengono gestiti in toto o in parte attraverso meccanismi di partecipazione delle comunità di utenti. Ci sono aziende che su Internet erogano per esempio servizi di assistenza sui loro prodotti coinvolgendo altri utenti che rispondono a dubbi e richieste di aiuto come un vero e proprio help desk. Solo che il servizio è fornito dalla "folla", non da dipendenti dell’azienda. LDR Listener Driven Radio permette di applicare lo stesso meccanismo alla programmazione di una stazione radio. Non è una novità di per sé, moltissime piattaforme musicali in Web streaming prevedono la partecipazione diretta di chi ascolta e i brani vengono diffusi in base alla loro popolarità nell’ambito di una comunità di persone. LDR però non è un sito Web pubblico pensato per lo streaming ma un prodotto commerciale (venduto o acquisito in cambio merce) espressamente rivolto alle stazioni radio con tanto di trasmettitore e antenna che intendono avvalersi del mezzo interattivo non solo per catalizzare l’attenzione del loro bacino di utenza e magari per estenderlo, ma anche per coinvolgere direttamente l’ascoltatore nella "direzione artistica". Con LDR la stazione può sfruttare il sito Web, i widget, i principali social network per raccogliere il feedback sui brani da trasmettere e persino per raccogliere nuove proposte dai gruppi musicali emergenti e sottoporle al famoso giudizio della folla. LDR è una startup di Westlake, Ohio e l’inventore della piattaforma software è Daniel Anstandig, che insieme a Lee Zapis e Mike McVay, tutti coinvolti nella produzione di programmi radiofonici e manager di stazioni radio, ha pensato di cavalcare in questo modo i nuovi aspetti sociali e partecipativi della radiofonia.
